Bacon & Cheese Wagyu Burgers by Travelling Wild & Free

Ingredients:

  • Wagyu Burger Patties (Zuney Wagyu delivers straight to your door if you don’t know where to get them)
  • Bacon (streaky or bacon rounds work best)
  • Cheese (I like a 50/50 mozzarella & cheddar mix)
  • Butter
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Burger buns
  • Burger Sauce (I used Chick-fil-A sauce but I’ll add an easy and delicious homemade alternative below)

For a delicious home-made burger sauce just mix:
6 parts tomato sauce, 6 parts mayo, 1 part mustard and you’re done.

Instructions:

This one is super simple. If you want an easy to use table top cooking solution that still gives you the delicious charcoal braai flavour then you have to try a COBB Grill.

  1. Light a CobbleStone and wait a few minutes until it has turned grey. Or, if you don’t have a CobbleStone on hand, ready your briquettes in the COBB Cooker.
  2. Place the Griddle+ accessory onto the COBB Cooker and close the Dome Cover for 5 minutes so it can heat up.
  3. Grill your bacon, till light brown on both sides.
  4. Grill your burger patties for two minutes on each side flipping 4 times. On the last flip add your salt and pepper and your Cheese on the top and let it melt for the remainder of the cooking time.
  5. Cut your buns and spread a decent helping of butter on them, then grill them till golden and crispy on the one side.
  6. Add your Burger sauce on the buns and stack your burger with two patties, topping it off with your bacon and a bit more Burger Sauce and then the top half of your bun.

Note: We wanted a smash Burger style burger with no garnish but feel free to add whatever garnish you would like to help freshen it up a bit.

Feel free to customize the spices and flavours according to your preferences and creativity.
