A Summer of Love with COBB
It’s that time of the year again where you can literally smell the aroma of love in the air. Now traditionally speaking, Valentine’s Day has always been about couples in love, everyone getting engaged or married – but it should be celebrated as a day of universal love – whether it’s spent with your partner, celebrated with a loved one or even on a solo day out loving yourself. We have compiled a list of 5 romantic dates where all you will need is your COBB and whoever you choose to “love” on the day:
Fondue COBB Style:
For those that are lucky enough to have more than one person to love in their life, we suggest having a loving fondue – the COBB style. All you need is:
- Strips/Bite size pieces of various meat (chicken, beef, boerewors etc.)
- Julienned/Bite size vegetables (carrots, peppers, mushrooms etc.)
- Sliced up bread (for toasting)
- Skewer sticks
- Various dips
- Your trusted COBB of course
Beach Please:
So you want to go solo and spend the day on the beach – just you and your COBB, loving and appreciating each other. Maybe catch a fish or two and prepare it then and there. Thinking about how you’ve grown as a person the past year and really just being thankful and fulfilled in the present moment while your catch of the day is smoking hot on the COBB. Being alone doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re lonely – but it does mean you don’t have to share your food – and that’s enough reason to celebrate! Get beachy with our following recipe selection:
Romantic Picnic for two:
Now this picnic recipe is dedicated to all the love birds out there. Grab a blanket, a bottle of your favourite wine, your COBB cooker and drive down to your favourite picnic spot to make this gorgeous baked camembert and rosemary bread skewers!
Bake Off:
Some of my favourite memories of my grandmother is baking with her in the kitchen; always licking off the used utensils and laughing through my toothless smile. So, if you find yourself without a significant other – have a bake off with your grandmother/daughter this Valentine’s Day and fill the room with aromas of freshly baked love and laughter. Adventuring Locally:
We really live in one of the most beautiful countries – but how often do we take the time to seek the natural gems in our neighbourhood – to stare in awe at what Mother Nature has blessed us with and really just fall in love with it? Pack your backpack, your COBB in its bag, comfortable hiking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, fresh water, a few buddies and go find your next outdoor adventure. The COBB will make sure your hunger is fulfilled wherever you find yourselves! Just remember: COBB can be used literally everywhere as it is not a fire hazard when used as a complete unit – however, always be responsible when discarding your leftover CobbleStone/briquettes and make sure they are not still burning.
Wherever you find yourself during this month of love – always make sure it’s right where you want to be. Surrounded by love in all kinds of forms – and of course your one and only COBB.
